Our client was originally arrested for driving the wrong way and DUI less safe. Her case began in the Atlanta Municipal Court. In the Atlanta Municipal Court and at her administrative license suspension hearing, our client was represented by another attorney. Unfortunately, this attorney had little faith in his ability to defend our client’s DUI charge. So, when her case was formally accused in the Fulton County State Court, our client went looking for another attorney, and we happened to meet. We did a lot of preparation on this case, and we attempted to negotiate a reduction of the charge to reckless driving. When that was unsuccessful, we proceeded on with a motions hearing. At the hearing, we were successful and the entirety of our client’s case was dismissed based upon a violation of her right to a speedy trial.
